i just finished off not one but two glorious portions of the greasiest and saltiest fries known to man after having spent a large portion of the day just plain nibbling on everything my kitchen has to offer. word-spy has just this moment sent me a name for this behavior:
passive overeating
pp.
The excessive eating of foods that are high in fat because the human body is slow to recognize the caloric content of rich foods; eating whatever is put in front of you, even to the point of discomfort.
Also: passive over-eating.
