went to L.A. this weekend. it was absolutely perfect timing to get away and come back renewed and fresh from all the B.S. from the last few weeks.

after spending the weekend with his lovely mom and dad I have come to the conclusion that they are not in the least bit dysfunctional or fucked up like my family. christmas we'll all be getting together at my mother's house in champaign-urbana and it will be interesting to see how we all manage to find common ground.

apart from looking at pictures of young brendan all weekend (he was a very cute little Dragon magazine collecting, role playing, computer geek child) we managed to get out to a club in Hollywood to get the full L.A. experience. it was themed so there were lots of sluty costumed club chicks (i.e. plenty of mini-skirted girl scouts and Little Bo Peeps.) the rest of the weekend was filled with oatmeal cookies, much time spent driving, and going though dusty boxes of brendan's role playing paraphernalia. the weather was perfect and my brain feels a lot better except for the overwhelming amount of work i have to do for school.
